As a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Damer specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of hip and knee arthritis. His surgical expertise includes total hip replacement, total and partial knee replacement, as well as complex revision surgeries of total hips and total knees and the treatment of related infections. He is passionate about the latest surgical innovations, including Mako SmartRobotics™—an advanced, robotic-arm assisted technology that helps optimize implant positioning for a more precise, personalized surgical experience and better outcomes. He is also highly trained in muscle sparing subvastus knee replacement and the direct anterior approach for hip replacement, techniques designed to reduce tissue trauma, improve mobility, and support a faster, more comfortable recovery.

Dr. Damer earned his doctorate in osteopathy at Des Moines University in Des Moines, Iowa. After medical school, he completed an internship in traditional osteopathy and his orthopedic surgery residency at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio. He went on to complete additional fellowship training in adult reconstruction surgery at New England Baptist Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts.
