As a board‑certified and fellowship‑trained joint reconstruction surgeon, Dr. John Martin specializes in the treatment of hip and knee arthritis, including total hip, total knee, and partial knee replacement and revision surgeries. He also offers advanced Mako SmartRobotics™ technology, providing patients with more precise, predictable joint replacement procedures and improved outcomes.

Dr. Martin is trained in the direct anterior and direct superior approaches for hip replacement and the muscle‑sparing subvastus approach for knee replacement, techniques that allow for less disruption to surrounding tissues and a potentially smoother recovery.

He earned his Doctorate of Medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis and completed his residency at the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Phoenix. He then completed a fellowship in Adult Reconstruction Arthroplasty at the CORE Institute, also in Phoenix, further specializing in orthopedic joint replacement. Board‑certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, he joined Central Indiana Orthopedics in 2023.

Dr. Martin has been recognized as a finalist in the Best of Madison County – Physician Category in both 2025 and 2026, reflecting his ongoing commitment to expert, compassionate and patient‑centered care.
