We’re proud to announce that Central Indiana Orthopedics (CIO) has been added to the Anthem HealthSync Designated Orthopedic Network effective July 1, 2026. The designation includes CIO Fishers Surgery Center and CIO Muncie Surgery Center, providing eligible Anthem HealthSync members with access to approved sites for hip and knee replacement care across Indiana.
The Anthem HealthSync Designated Orthopedic Network is a value-based care model that connects members with high-performing orthopedic surgeons and facilities for primary and revision hip and knee replacement procedures. Participation in the network is based on defined quality, outcomes and cost-efficiency criteria. Effective Jan. 1, 2026, eligible Anthem HealthSync members are required to receive these procedures within the designated network, making access to designated providers and facilities an important consideration for patients seeking joint replacement care.
Participation in the Anthem HealthSync Designated Orthopedic Network follows the achievement of Blue Distinction Plus® designation for hip and knee replacement care, recognizing CIO and our outpatient surgery centers for meeting rigorous standards related to clinical quality, patient outcomes and cost efficiency.

The designation provides eligible Anthem HealthSync members with additional options for receiving joint replacement care in outpatient settings designed to support efficiency, consistency and a strong patient experience.
The Anthem HealthSync program is utilized by a wide range of employers, including a significant population of state employees in government and public education. The model is designed to create a more predictable and coordinated experience for patients undergoing joint replacement, while also helping manage overall healthcare costs for employers.
