Dr. Brian Camilleri is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and is fellowship-trained in sports medicine and hip preservation. He specializes in hip arthroscopy, complex shoulder and knee injuries, knee replacement, and general orthopedics. Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Dr. Camilleri received his undergraduate and medical degrees from Michigan State University. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency with Ohio University and was then fortunate enough to embark on two subspecialty fellowships. First, Dr. Camilleri was trained in complex sports medicine injuries and surgeries in Indianapolis, Indiana, including knee and shoulder reconstruction, cartilage restoration, and hip injuries in athletes. He then completed a second fellowship in Cleveland, Ohio, focusing further on arthroscopic hip surgery, femoroacetabular impingement, and other athletic hip injuries.
Dr. Camilleri considers himself extremely fortunate to have gained experience treating athletes of all levels, and he applies the same approach for his athletes to all of his patients. Dr. Camilleri has served as an assistant team physician with the Indianapolis Colts and the Cleveland Browns of the NFL and he continues to assist with player medical evaluations during the NFL Combine. He has also been a team physician for several colleges, including Indiana State University and the University of Indianapolis, and previously served as the medical director of Indy Premier Soccer Club. In his free time, Dr. Camilleri enjoys traveling, cycling, and wakeboarding with his wife. He also enjoys playing music and is an avid sports fan, including hockey, football, soccer, baseball, and basketball. Board-certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery, he has been practicing at Central Indiana Orthopedics since 2016.
