We aren’t sure where 2022 went, but it’s been a wonderful year of celebrating achievements and growth for Central Indiana Orthopedics! We’ve enjoyed reflecting on many milestones CIO has achieved this year, and we couldn’t have done it without our amazing staff, or the patients who trusted us with their orthopedic needs. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Below is a recap of top moments we wanted to share from 2022.
We kicked off 2022 by opening CIO Muncie Physical Therapy! At the time, we had a team of six physical/occupational therapists and physical therapy assistants ready to treat a variety of conditions ranging from acute inflammatory conditions of tendons or bursae to post-surgical rehabilitation. Since then, we’ve doubled our team and have helped over 15,000 patients recover from orthopedic injuries and conditions. In February, we wished Dr. Kerry Bennett a happy retirement after nearly 30 years of practicing orthopedics. If you were lucky enough to meet Dr. Bennett, there’s a good chance you were greeted with the warmest welcome! He had an outstanding bedside manner and expertise in treating hip and knee disorders. We miss him dearly, but we are thrilled to know he is enjoying retirement to the fullest.
We wrapped up the first quarter by welcoming Dr. Brian Badman, board-certified orthopedic shoulder surgeon, to CIO Fishers. Prior to joining CIO, Dr. Badman had been practicing in the Indianapolis area since 2006. He joined our practice with an impressive background of treating shoulder injuries and conditions, including sports-related injuries and degenerative and traumatic conditions of the shoulder. While Dr. Badman is passionate about research and using the latest technologies, he believes that a lot of value still comes from what he was taught early on in medical school – the physical exam; simply placing hands on the patient to find the source of pain. The month of July was filled with exciting recognitions! Dr. Jared Jones was recognized as ISMA (Indiana State Medical Association) Physician of the Year. This award is presented to a team physician who has provided at least 15 years of service to an Indiana school or organized team, is in good standing with ISMA and nominated by a licensed athletic trainer. It came as no surprise to us that Dr. Jones received this award, not only because of his extensive background in being a Team Physician, but because of the impact he’s had on many physicians, athletic trainers and athletes throughout his career. Additionally, we received news that Central Indiana Orthopedics ranked number one out of 102 orthopedic groups in the United States based on positive reviews online. In SocialClimb’s report, patient reviews are measured from online sites such as Google, Facebook, Healthgrades and Vitals. CIO’s overall star rating came in at 4.82/5 stars. We couldn’t have achieved this ranking without the commitment from physicians and staff to delivering expert, compassionate care to our patients. Additionally, we thank our patients for providing us with both positive and negative feedback. In August, we welcomed Dr. Stanton Wilhite, podiatrist, to our Anderson, Muncie and Fishers offices, allowing us to broaden the services of expert foot and ankle care we deliver to our patients. Dr. Wilhite specializes in the treatment of foot and ankle disorders, tendon and ligament repair and diabetic wound care/limb salvage. Fun fact: he’s the son of our beloved Anderson cast tech, Gilbert! September brought exciting achievements for the Muncie office! In Muncie’s Quest for the Best contest, a vote-based contest highlighting the best businesses, items and services in East Central Indiana, we received first place in Orthopedic Surgeons, first place in Physical Therapy and second place in Customer Service. We started the third quarter by welcoming another board-certified orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Ryan Jaggers, to our Muncie and Marion teams. Dr. Jaggers is fellowship-trained in sports medicine and specializes in several types of knee repair, reconstruction and restoration procedures. He’s also an expert in treating hip and knee arthritis and is certified in Mako SmartRobotics™ robotic-arm assisted surgery for hip and knee replacement. In November, we were thrilled to learn that 21 Central Indiana Orthopedics doctors were named Castle Connolly Top Doctors 2022. Each year, Castle Connolly releases a list of notable top doctors who are nominated by their peers and thoroughly validated by Castle Connolly’s research team to ensure that they deliver the highest quality patient care. In addition, our entire team of Fishers-based physicians were recognized in Indianapolis Monthly Top Doctors 2022. We are so proud of our doctors!
